Maskandi artist prepares to release new single

The song focuses on how the pandemic has affected the economy, businesses and the loss of loved ones over a short period.

Vosloorus maskandi artist Jabulani Mthinkhulu, better known by his stage name Imillionair, will release his latest single Corona before the end of the year.

The song focuses on how the pandemic has affected the economy, businesses and the loss of loved ones over a short period.

Imillionair said he wrote the song to raise awareness and to remind people about basic safety precautions against the deadly coronavirus.

“In this song, I am saying let’s sanitise, wear masks and wash hands to overcome this virus,” he said.

The maskandi artist, who is also an EMPD officer deployed at Vosloorus, hails from Melmoth, eDubeni Village under the tribe of Mntwana.

He said his influence in music was sparked by his forefathers who were talented musicians.

“I started developing an interest in music many years ago. I worked with various artists although I was not a recording artist at the time I contributed as a guitarist,” said Imillionair.

“Eventually, I started doing my own work where I released my album titled State Capture, which was released on December 22 last year,” he continued.

“This album became very successful. People were happy to listen to it. I even won the Isolezwe competition.”

He said due to the album doing well he embarked on a radio tour to promote it at various radio stations around Gauteng and KZN.

“I have also been performing in big events sharing the stage with other famous maskandi artists.”

His album is available on all digital platforms.
