Celebrate Human Rights Day with SANBS

Celebrate life this Human Rights Day by donating blood and potentially saving a life.

With Human Rights Day coming up on March 21, the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) will hold a celebratory blood drive on Monday, March 22. The blood drive will be held to recruit new donors to ensure there is sufficient stock of safe and usable blood available for South Africans in need.

SANBS has unfortunately seen a decline in their blood stocks and is therefore appealing to stakeholders to celebrate life on March 22 by partnering with your local blood donor centre and giving back to the community during these trying times.

Stakeholders are invited to:

  • Complete the pledge list attached with names and contact details of participants
  • Enter a team to donate blood on Monday, March 22, 2021
  • Take pictures of their teams on the day

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) encourages all members of the public to take 15 minutes from their schedule to change the lives of thousands of patients.

Due to Covid-19, stringent protocols are in place to ensure the safety of all blood donors, staff and the public.
