TOM BEYLEVELD of Glen Marais writes:
I refer to your article in Kempton Express November 30 regarding the stalemate in the Dann Road fight.
As Councillor Terblanche is the chairperson of the working group he should establish a new group of willing members who are serious about resolving the matter to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.

If I remember correctly, I read in your paper that the chairperson of the Ekurhuleni EFF Mampuru Mampuru claimed he supplied the portable toilets and that he would see to it that municipal services be rendered to the informal settlement.
By making such statements Mampuru Mampuru is creating false expectations in the community that they will receive municipal services in the near future. Should these promises not materialise it could result in a lengthy service delivery protest on Dann Road, ie burning tyres and throwing stones.
If firm action is not taken now to resolve the matter, further uncontrolled and illegal land invasions in Glen Marais and surrounding areas may occur.
