Bringing entrepreneurship to the youth
Young Hustla is a story about an ordinary child who comes from the dusty streets eKasi and decides enough is enough.
Creating Revolutionary Entrepreneurship And Moguls (Cream) invented the first entrepreneurship comic book in the world, called Young Hustla.
The South African co-founders of Cream, Bonginhlanhla Dube and Ntsiki Mkhize, saw the necessity to create more exposure on entrepreneurship for the youth and they came up with an innovative, engaging, and informative way of making entrepreneurship ‘cool’.
Ntsiki said, “In essence, Cream is a movement, a collective of individuals of young entrepreneurs who are forward looking, who add value to their communities, who move as a unit, who not only dream but also execute.”
These young entrepreneurs said Young Hustla is a story about an ordinary child who comes from the dusty streets eKasi and decides enough is enough.
“Complaining will not solve anything – this is a story about a child who has big dreams, just like all of us, but the difference is that he decides to chase them instead of blaming society, his current situation or his bad misfortune. As the saying goes, “uzoy’ thola kanjani uhleli eKhoneni (how will you achieve while hanging out on street corners?”
Bonginhlanhla and Ntsiki said the main objective of the Young Hustla magazine is to educate the youth about what it means to be an entrepreneur, how they can navigate the world of entrepreneurship and what support institutions are available to them.
“Readers will go on a journey to share in the hardships, the sacrifices, the joy and moments of triumph enveloped in the life of an entrepreneur.
“Through this we hope that society as a whole will be more appreciative of entrepreneurs and small business in South Africa and in turn, become more supportive,” said Bonginhlanhla.
The comic will cover a number of topics, such as the different stages of business, the pros and cons about business, making money, losing money, negotiating, pitching to an investor, the power of networking, branding, inspiring the youth to follow their dreams and developing. a culture of entrepreneurship
Other topics include the what to do and what not to do in entrepreneurship.
