The family of Elizabeth Tsonstso Moselakgom (38) has confirmed that the female body located in Kempton Park on Saturday, September 12, has been positively identified as her.

Following an agonising period of uncertainty after Moselakgom failed to return home on September 9, 2026, her family proceeded to the state mortuary, where they were able to identify her.

“The past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster for the family.

“They had tirelessly searched for Moselakgom and circulated missing-person flyers in the hope that information would lead to her safe return,” said Dawn Gounden, spokesperson for the family.

Moselakgom leaves behind her minor child, family and many friends.

“She touched the lives of many people who had the privilege of knowing her, and her loss has left a deep void in the lives of those who loved and cared for her.”

While the identification brings the family the painful reality of knowing what happened to Moselakgom, it also provides closure after days of uncertainty.

Police investigation under way

“The family now hopes that the circumstances surrounding Moselakgom’s death will be thoroughly investigated and that justice will prevail.

“They place their trust in the SAPS to conduct a comprehensive investigation and to ensure that those responsible, if criminality is established, are held accountable,” said Gounden.

She added that the family wishes to thank everyone who assisted with searches, shared her information, offered support and stood alongside them during this extremely difficult time.

“Moselakgom will be remembered, she will be mourned, and her family will continue to seek justice for her.”
