A Croydon couple got a huge shock on Monday morning when they found a plastic bag containing the dismembered parts of a bird on their front gate.
Const Sharon Mahamba, spokesman for Sebenza SAPS, said the couple discovered the plastic bag, dripping blood, hanging on their front gate on their way to work.
When they opened it, they found the head, feathers and intestines of the bird in the bag. Mahamba said it looked like a chicken but it could have been another bird.
She said the blood was fresh, so the bird was killed and dismembered not long ago.
According to Mahamba the couple believed it could be a threat. They celebrated Diwali a few weeks ago and had problems with their neighbours concerning the fireworks they used.
Sebenza SAPS will investigate the matter. There has been arguments and ill feeling among neighbours in Croydon ever since Diwali.
Sebenza SAPS will have a public meeting before the end of November to sort out everybody’s grievances.
