Kempton beauty has the fashion look
Not to be mistaken for just an athlete with beauty queen ambitions, she is also active in charities
Kempton Park teenager, Brittany Ward, was named this year’s Eastgate Look of Fashion winner.
Apart from this coveted title, the 17-year-old also took home prizes worth more than R60 000, including an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas and a chance to compete at the Italian 2014 Ragazza Cinema International beauty competition.
The Holy Rosary grade 11 learner only started competing in pageants in 2012 when she entered and won Miss Pre-Teen International.
“I was honestly and truly privileged to win. I spent the year of my reign helping various charities,” she said.
She was second princess at Miss Teen Rivonia 2013, which was the second pageant she entered. She claimed first prize again when she entered Teen Face of the North 2013 and seems to be on a winning streak as she soon thereafter won the Eastgate Look of Fashion 2013.
Although she radiates on the catwalk, she also enjoys being on the sports field as she is an avid athlete.
“You will probably find me on a hockey field, athletic track or a tennis court as I am very sporty,” she added.
Not to be mistaken for just an athlete with beauty queen ambitions, she is also active in charities.
“In grade 7, I was elected as Mini City Councillor for the Johannesburg Mini City Council. I spent my year helping many different charities such as Reach for a Dream, the SPCA and SA Guide Dog Association,” she said.
She also supports El-Shammah, St Teresa’s Home in Limpopo and has obtained her Respice Stellam bronze, silver and gold badges at school for her charity work.
“My biggest drive is blood donation. I am the blood donor representative at my school and encourage the other girls and people around to regularly donate blood,” she said.
This young and ambitious beauty is looking forward to all the opportunities this title will open up for her.
“I enjoy creating stepping stones towards my future. When I am faced with challenges, I always remind myself that there will always be new opportunities,” she concluded.
