Police are looking for fraudster

He took they money, but did not deliver the goods

KEMPTON Park SAPS are currently looking for the man pictured in connection with cases of fraud in Kempton Park and other suburbs.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, the man goes by either names of David Maphosa or Richardson Baron.

A resident responded to an advert he had placed on OLX, a website with classifieds adverts, selling an Apple iPod for R6 000.

“The victim made arrangements to buy the device and was asked to deposit R2 300 into the suspect’s account. When it was time to collect the iPod, the man had disappeared,” said Mtshali.

In related incidents in Linden, the man fraudulently bought goods, which were advertised similarly in classifieds. He would then claim to have deposited the cash into the accounts, but before people could verify it, he had disappeared along with their belongings.
