Metro police on the lookout for school bus
The bus was filled with small primary school children when it was spotted driving past traffic on the left hand side on the P91
THE metro police is on the lookout for a school bus ferrying children around without an valid clearance certificate.
The department was put on the bus’ tail after EXPRESS had sent them a photograph of the bus taken by a concerned resident.
The photograph was taken on January 29 at around 6.30am, passing traffic on the left hand shoulder on the R25 (P91).
It carried on and at the traffic light at Ysterhout Street it passed vehicles on the left hand side again where there were yellow zebra lines painted.
Driving on the dirt road on the left hand side of the photographer’s vehicle to the McDonald’s intersection, it could not cut into traffic due to a lamp post being in his way at that traffic light.
The photographer then gave him opportunity to turn left towards Elgin Road.
The bus was filled with small primary school children.
Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said officers visited the owner on January 31 in Esangweni Section, Tembisa.
“Unfortunately the vehicle was not there. So far it has been discovered the vehicle needs a valid clearance certificate.
“The officers will be on the lookout for the HCB 712 GP vehicle until it is located and the necessary will be done by the officers on all that is found wrong with it,” Kgasago said.
