Ndlovu celebrates 85th birthday

Mrs Kate Ndlovu celebrated her 85th birthday at her home in Maokeng extension on Saturday last week.

The birthday party was organised by one of her daughters, Mrs Pinky Mabaso.

Mrs Mabaso said she wanted to show recognition to her mother.

“I wanted my mother to enjoy her day. Every single day I pray that she keeps strong, as she is old. We hope she lives many more years. She took great care of us and even looked after our children,” she said.

She added that her mother is her role model.

“This woman has never let us down and the most important thing, she always wanted us to go to school. She pushed hard for us to become who we are today. Our father died while we were young. The most important thing I learnt from her as a wife, is to never run away when things are difficult,” she added.

Mrs Ndlovu had 10 children, four of whom have died.

She also has 47 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.
