Thembisa SOS arrest learner after found in possession of dangerous weapon.

Thembisa police social crime prevention and sector management officers were called to Thembisa School of Specialisation, Commerce and Entrepreneurship after Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens found a 15-year-old boy in possession of a machete, a screwdriver and a poke of dagga.

Gauteng Crime Prevention Wardens were monitoring learners leaving the school premises when they noticed a group of six suspicious boys in civilian clothes in front of the main gate.

The boys tried to force entry into the school, but the wardens asked to search them. Some ran away, but one was apprehended.

The 15-year-old suspect, from Isithame Section in Thembisa, said he had come to take revenge because his friends were assaulted the previous day.

On arrival, police established that the boy is a primary school learner who has not attended school since the third term reopened, but was arrested in the Norkem Park policing precinct for assaulting learners at a local school.

He had been released into the care of his parents a few days prior after being rearrested in Thembisa.

Parents and communities are urged to join hands with police, as this has been a daily norm for children to attack one another after school.
