Slow Poison strikes down her opponents

The Tembisa Shinkyokushinkai Karate Organisation hosted the SADC Karate champ of champs competition at Rabasotho Hall on September 27.

South Africa, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe took part in the event.

Nokuthula “Slow Poison” Ntuli took the tatami against the current national champion in the ladies open division, Thembeka “Gogo” Mbonambi, who is a first dan black belt.

“Slow Poison stood her ground against Mbonambi. She went on to fight against another former women’s champion from KZN, Zonke Mthethwa, who is a brown belt holder,” said her trainer, Sensei Paul Sehlabela.

He added that she had to face second dan black belt, Marqueens Jacobs, from the Western Cape.

“She stood her ground against these veterans in the women’s open division. Nokuthule fought so well against all the experienced senior belt fighters to the point where she is now ranked number four in the SADC champ of champs women’s open division. This ranking allows her to represent South Africa in the All Africa championships, to be held in South Africa on May 30, 2015, at Rabasotho Hall. This girl has a heart for fighting, she fears no opponent and she does not retreat,” said Sehlabela.
