Langa retains best pupil title

Grade 6 pupil, Nqobile Langa (12), was the highest scoring pupil in the Annual National Assessment (ANA) results at Busy Bee Primary School.

Langa was announced as the overall outstanding achiever during the speech and prize giving ceremony held at the school early in December.

She was awarded five certificates, three trophies and gold medals.

Langa, who was seen in tears of joy when she was rewarded for her achievements, said she felt excited and proud to have retained her title as the best pupil in the school.

“I achieved my marks because I ask when I do not understand. I keep quiet when my teacher is in class and speak when I am given a chance,” she said.

She added that she urges pupils to always ask when they do not understand something in class.

According to Busy Bee Primary School’s Mr Elvis Ncube, since Langa joined the school last year, she has been the best pupil in leadership skills, is well disciplined, diligent and is the best in English.

“I am proud to have a pupil like this in my school. She is a good listener who always ask when she does not understand. I am excited to receive 100 percent in this year’s ANA results,” he said.

“I am thankful and proud of my teachers and parents for being supportive to the children throughout the year. This includes sponsors, such as the Rotary Club in Edenvale, for providing donations to our school,” he added.

The school’s director, Ms Gloria Padi, said she encourages parents to continue supporting and loving their children.

“You are great parents. You have shown support to the children in their education. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Let us meet again next year, safe and clean,” she said.

The parents and pupils were served with a free lunch and snacks after the event.
