Hockey club supports wet noses

The hockey club has placed boxes and bins at the clubhouse at Barnard Stadium where donations can be left

KEMPTON Park Hockey Club is running a charity project in aid of Wetnose Animal Rescue Centre.

Wetnose is an animal shelter east of Pretoria that rescues, rehabilitates and then re-homes abused, abandoned and neglected animals.

The hockey club has placed boxes and bins at the clubhouse at Barnard Stadium where donations can be left. The drive will run until April 30.

Their wishlist includes: dog and cat food, washing powder, blankets, hose pipes and fittings, gardening brooms, toys and balls, scratch poles, gum boots (size 8-11), overalls (pants and jackets size 32-46), de-worming products, fly repellents, fly bait and fly bait bags, tick/flea products, leads, choke chains, locks, permanent black markers, rope (not nylon), horse equipment, horse feeding buckets, snake container, 25l water buckets, tools, lockable storage container to keep equipment in back of vehicle, printing paper, stationary, ink cartridges, laminating pouches, IBR roof sheeting, cement.

Residents can also become a Wetnose volunteer. By becoming a volunteer you can spend as much time with the animals as possible and provide them with TLC, as well as take them for walks, play with the animals and feed them.

If you cannot support them through volunteering or donating products, you can donate R20 to the cause.
