Video: Police out in full force on the P91

The SAPS is looking for any illegal firearms, drugs or stolen goods

LOCAL police stations have joined hands in setting up a stop and search roadblock on the P91 on Thursday morning.

Similar road blocks will be conducted over the Easter weekend.Sebenza SAPS spokesman, Const Sharon Tsotsotso, said the aim of the roadblock was to confiscate any illegal firearms, drugs or stolen goods.

In addition they also hope to find suspects of crimes in the Norkem Park, Esther Park and Edleen areas by scanning licence discs and taking fingerprints.

Random vehicles were pulled over and searched, as well as the drivers and their passengers.

The roadblock is a joint operation by Kempton park SAPS, Sebenza SAPS, Norkem Park SAPS and Edenvale SAPS.
