Issac Kgwadi made his school proud when he excelled in an international Mathlematics competition.
Mathletics is an on-line mathematics competition which runs for three days consecutively.
The competition is meant for leading sath schools and it took place in a April.
Bokamoso Secondary School had six students who represented the school but Isaac Kgwadi made it to the top spot.
The Bokamoso top student took third place against South African schools and was placed 18th in the world.
Isaac said he has been in a similar competition before called Math Olympiads but he was unsuccessful.
According to the grade 10 pupil he was well prepared this time and his hard work paid off.
“People said I was going to fail the first one but this time I wasn’t going to listen to negative people,” said Issac.
His maths teacher, Mr Bandile Ndongeni said he is excited about Isaac’s accomplishment.
“I feel motivated as a young mathematics teacher when our learners accumulate such recognition. I would like to urge other teachers to invest in the future of our learners,” said Mr Ndongeni.
“Some say maths is difficult. Mathematics is not a difficult subject if you practice,” said Isaac.
In celebration of this achievement, The Tembisan will give a free copy of this week’s edition to each student at Bokamoso Secondary School. A thousand copies are to be delivered at the school’s premises.
