Drive collects over 11 litres of blood for SANBS

The blood drive was a collaboration between Alpha Security and ER24

ABOUT 75 lives will be saved after almost 12 litres of blood was collected during the Alpha Security and ER24 Blood Drive Challenge on Friday.

The Blood Drive was held at Alpha Security’s premises at the corner of Albatross and Cypress streets, Kempton.

The private security company and emergency medical care provider challenged community members and businesses to donate blood for the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) organisation.

June is National Blood Donor Month.

Members from both companies and community members donated blood on the day, including first-time donors as well. The drive managed to collect 25 pints of blood altogether.

“I would like to thank the SANBS team for all their effort, ER24’s branch manager Charlene Bezuidenhout and her team for their willingness and participation, as well as the Alpha Security staff members who donated blood to save a life,” Morne le Grange, Alpha Security’s general manager, commented.
