Legends unite against gender-based violence

Artists united in one voice bringing awareness through music, poetry and dance

THE Plat4orm, a non-profit organisation for Artists by Artists, hosted another activation through their campaign “Legends Unite Against Gender-Based Violence” on June 25 at Kempton Square.

The aim of the campaign is to have artists united in one voice and bringing awareness through music, poetry and dance, to spark a conversation in our communities and society.

By activating a certain part of the community, the youth and older generations have pledged not to stand for any type of violence and promise they will not partake in any gender-based violence.

Plat4orm has partnered with the Department of Arts and Culture and have successfully collaborated with various legends in the arts in spreading the message of gender-based violence.

The legends included Mahotella Queens, Shaleen Surtie-Richards, Robert Whitehead and Lydia Mokgokoloshi.
