ACCORDING to Norkem Park SAPS there has been a decrease in reported crimes such as hijacking, business and house robberies.
“Property related crimes such as housebreaking, theft out of cars and car theft are still giving us problems. Housebreakings mostly take place during the day in the absence of owners, and car theft and theft out of cars at shopping centres,” he said.
“We appeal to motorists to at all times double check that their car doors are locked after parking.”
Molokomme said the decrease was the result of efforts from the police, community structures and other law enforcement bodies such as the metro police and security companies around Norkem Park.
“Together we can make a safer area to stay,” he added.
