Claudine wants to be a voice for the disabled
The crowning and gala evening will take place on October 31 at Carousel International in Bela-Bela.
CLAUDINE de Klerk, a Grade 10 learner at Muriel Brand School, a school for learners with disabilities, believes that the Miss SA Schools ambassador’s competition has taught her to be a role model for disabled people.
The Miss SA Schools ambassador’s competition aims to empower young South African school girls with the necessary knowledge and skills to become an ambassador.

The competition also encourages the primary and high school finalists to make a difference in their own schools and to create awareness about unprivileged children around the world.
Claudine will be selling cupcakes to the community and will donate the funds raised to the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Foundation. She will also be reaching out to the East Rand Protective Workshop.
“I entered the competition to be the voice for the disabled, I also suffer from dyslexia and I go to school with children that are blind, without limbs and have serious disabilities. I want to be the voice for these children and even adults. I want to show the world that even though you have a disability you are still beautiful in your own way,” explained Claudine.
Claudine also needs help with collecting second hand orthopedic equipment including wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs to donate to her school as part of her outreach projects.
Any donations or sponsorships towards Claudine’s journey will be appreciated.
