Girl (5) gets R50 from rapist

The man was arrested after the child's parents became suspicious when they found R50 in the child's possession.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on October 19 for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl at Umfuyaneng Section.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha said the man was arrested after the child’s parents became suspicious when they found R50 in the child’s possession.

“She gave the money to her mother. She told her an unknown man told her to give it to her. The mother then noticed that her child was bleeding,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

The daughter took her parent’s to the house where she had received the money.

She pointed out the man to her parents.

The SAPS was called and the officers arrested the man.

“The money was given to the child so that she would not tell anybody about the rape,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

Capt Ralidzhivha said the man will appear before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of rape.
