One of Tembisa’s most wanted suspects was arrested after police received information about his whereabouts on Friday morning.
Tembisa SAPS spokesperson Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha said the 34-year-old suspect was shot at a house at Matikweni Nkuna section.
“After police received information about the suspect, they rushed to the house. On arrival, the officers opened the door and the suspect jumped from his bed towards a chair where his clothing lay. He was shot before he could reach the chair,” added Capt Ralidzivha.
Capt Ralidzivha added the officers searched his trousers and found a toy gun.
“The suspect was involved in an armed robbery of police firearms in Rabie Ridge.
In December last year, he escaped from holding cells in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
