TWO cigarette thieves were arrested just hours after stealing from a business on Venter Street in Kempton.
Kempton police spokesman Capt Jethro Mtshali confirmed the pair stole from a business on Friday afternoon, last week, at about 12.40pm.
“It is alleged the owner had just left the business and on his return at 1:40pm he noticed that his business was broken into and about 18 cartons of cigarettes, groceries and a cellphone were stolen,” Mtshali said.
After police launched a manhunt for the two suspects, they were arrested on the same day at about 5pm, still in possession of the stolen goods.
The suspects, aged 21 and 22, will appear in court on charges of business burglary.
