TWO men, masquerading as car-parkers, were nabbed for breaking into a car at Kempton Park Civic Centre on Thursday afternoon last week.
Security officers noticed the two unfamiliar men peeping into vehicles in the parking lot and pretending to help vehicles to find parking, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, metro police spokesman, said.

“While monitoring the pair, security officers realised they were breaking into a Toyota Tazz. Members of the EMPD Loss Control Unit responded swiftly after being alerted by the security guards.
“The pair was arrested around 4.30pm after they were positively identified as the persons responsible for stealing a radio from a Toyota Tazz. The two suspects admitted to the crime and claimed they had sold the radio to a taxi driver. The police are in search of the taxi driver.”
Charges of breaking into a motor vehicle and theft were registered against the suspects at Kempton Park Police Station.
In an unrelated incident the same day at around 8.30pm in Hospital View in Tembisa, two males accosted the owner of a VW Polo and took his vehicle at gunpoint.
Within minutes, the vehicle tracker company was informed. EMPD Loss Control Unit member, police members as well as Rentrak personnel recovered the vehicle at 9pm in Tembisa.
The look-out for the hijacked Polo was sent out at 8.38pm and the swift reaction of the law enforcers made the bad guys to feel the heat and chicken out.
The vehicle was found abandoned on Dan Tloome Street in Esangweni Section in Tembisa, Kgasago said.
The hunt is on for the perpetrators of the crime.
