Kempton Express is still on the scene and more information will follow

A store manager (51) from KIC Factory Store in China Gate Mall was shot and killed during an attempted business robbery at around 9.30am on Monday morning.

It is alleged there were five suspects of which two pretended to be customers.

“One of the suspects followed the manager into the office with a firearm and demanded he opened the safe,” said Sgt Sharon Tsotsotso, spokesman for Sebenza SAPS.

“I heard noises coming from the office and went to see what was happening. When I went into the office I saw a guy holding a gun to the manager’s head. I turned around and ran away but a guy with a firearm stopped me at the door and demanded I lay on the floor. After that I heard a gunshot and the men ran out,” said KIC security guard, Mlungisi Ntshangase.

Kempton Express is still on the scene and more information will follow.
