Stop-and-search operation in Norkem Park

The focus was on non-compliance of liquor outlets, stop-and-searches and patrols around Norkem Park for the prevention of trio crimes (house robbery, business robbery and carjacking)

ON Tuesday, November 3, at about 8pm, a section 13(7) operation was conducted in Norkem Park, which ended the following morning at about 4am.

Norkem Park SAPS spokesman Capt Lesibana Molokomme said the operation was led by Maj Fanie van der Merwe, head of Vispol at the Norkem Park Police Station.

Molokomme said the following law enforcers took part in the operation: SAPS members from the Tembisa cluster, public order police, EMPD K9 (dog unit), SARS, liquor officers from provincial office and security companies working around Norkem Park.

“The operation focus was on non-compliance of liquor outlets, stop-and-searches and patrols around Norkem Park for the prevention of trio crimes (house robbery, business robbery and carjacking). The operation went well with no trio crimes reported,” explained Molokomme.
