SAPS arrests wounded burglar

"The man jumped towards the owner who produced a firearm and fired a shot."

A 22-year-old man was arrested for breaking into a house in Olifantsfontein on November 11.

“The suspect was found inside the house by the house owner. The owner had arrived home from work and when he opened his door, he was confronted by a man who was hiding behind a fridge.

“The man jumped towards the owner who produced a firearm and fired a shot,” said Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha.

He said the suspect managed to flee.

“His index finger was cut by some broken glass and he had sustained gunshot wounds to his leg. He was arrested a few metres from the house. The suspect was taken to hospital and received medical treatment under police guard,” said Capt Ralidzhiva.
