"They found a Z88 9mm pistol, hidden inside a computer and lying underneath first aid gloves."

A 21-year-old man was arrested on November 12 in Moedi Section.

“Members of the Tembisa South SAPS were on patrol in Sector 3 and received information about a man who was in possession of a firearm.

“The SAPS members went to the house and found the suspect in his room. When they searched the house, they found a Z88 9mm pistol, hidden inside a computer and lying underneath first aid gloves,” said Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha.

He said police officers also found eight live rounds of ammunition hidden inside a black cellular phone holder.

“The man failed to produce the license for the firearm. He was arrested and taken to the Tembisa Police Station where he was detained,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

The man was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal possession of ammunition.
