Child Welfare to march against gender violence for 16 Days of Activism
The theme for the march is 'From peace in the Home to peace in the World: Make education safe for all'
CHILD Welfare will march against gender-based violence as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign.
The theme for the march is “From peace in the Home to peace in the World: Make education safe for all”.
The march, brought on by discrimination against different social identities, has been planned thanks to a collaborated effort from various organisations, including Child Welfare Kempton Park, SAPS, Department of Social Development, Department of Justice, EMPD and Inkhorn Shiloh Foundation.
The aim of the march is to shed light on issues such as the right to education and inequality in education, challenging violence and discrimination. Other issues to also be highlighted include gender, race or ethnicity, religion, real or perceived sexual orientation, socio-economic status and other social identities.
The march will take place on December 4 from 9.30am until 1pm.
The walk will start at the Kempton Police Station and will end on Heide Street, where the allocated speakers will deliver their messages.
