Police recover body of man from Norkem Park swimming pool
The scene was processed before the victim's body was recovered from the pool and handed over to the Norkem Park SAPS.
A 32-year-old man was found dead in a swimming pool at a home in Norkem Park on the morning of July 9 after allegedly attending a social gathering at the property the previous evening.
According to spokesperson for the Gauteng Police Emergency Services, Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, officers from the SAPS Ekurhuleni Water Policing and Diving Services (WPDS), together with the K9 Search and Rescue Unit, responded to the incident in Steenloper Street, where the victim was discovered at the bottom of the pool.
Giblin said the scene was processed by a forensic photographer before the victim’s body was recovered from the pool and handed over to the Norkem Park SAPS detective for further investigation.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.”

The Norkem Park incident was one of two body recoveries attended to by the Ekurhuleni Water Policing and Diving Services over two days.
On the evening of July 8, shortly after 17:00, WPDS members responded to reports of a body floating in the Blesbokspruit River near Thabo Mbeki Drive in Ratanda. The body of an unidentified man was recovered and handed over to Ratanda SAPS, where an inquest has been opened.
