A man survived a gunshot after he was allegedly robbed of an undisclosed amount of money in Duduza Section, near Ivory Park.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, the victim was sleeping when a person forcefully opened the door and entered his house.
“The suspect’s face was covered and he had three accomplices. He pointed a firearm at the victim while the others were carrying an axe and iron rods. The suspects demanded money from the victim. He told them he had no money and they started beating him. The victim was shot in the leg,” said W/O Sekgobela.
W/O Sekgobela said the suspects searched the man’s house and took an undisclosed amount of money.
“They fled the scene in a red City Golf with an unknown registration number. We are appealing for the community to come forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects,” said W/O Sekgobela.
