Murder accused couple appear in court following granny’s funeral

This comes after Annatjie's funeral on Tuesday

THE couple accused of murdering Annatjie Stassen was sent back into police custody after the case was postponed again.

Gideon Stassen (43) and Chantelle Justine Minnott (31) again made a brief appearance in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning where they stand accused of murdering Stassen’s 78-year-old mother.

The couple has not been asked to plead yet.

This comes the day after Annatjie’s funeral service at the NG Kerk Kempton Kruin in Glen Marais, which the accused did not attend.

They were last in court on Wednesday, November 25 when their case was postponed to give them time to find legal representation. This time they managed to get themselves a lawyer to represent them.

They are scheduled to appear in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court again on December 10 for their bail application.
