Task team on board to investigate robbery at Pep Store

The robbers held the staff members at gunpoint while emptying the shop's cash tills and brand new cell phones

THE SAPS’s task team is currently investigating a case of business robbery, after the Pep store in Bredell was robbed on Wednesday afternoon (March 16).

It is alleged that five armed men entered the shop at about 3pm and held the staff members at gunpoint.

According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for the Kempton Park police, the armed men stole an undisclosed amount of money from the shop, as well as brand new cellphones that were being sold.

The robbers then drove off in a silver double cab bakkie. No one was injured during the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to please come forward.
