Son arrested for attempted murder of father

The suspect stabbed the victim several times.

A 26-year-old man from Winnie Mandela was arrested last week Saturday afternoon for the attempted murder of his father.

Captain Ralidzhivha said the 55-year-old father was watching television with his 11-year-old child on Saturday.

“His older son came into the room and grabbed a knife. He grabbed his father by his shirt and pulled him out of the room,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

It is believed that when the son had the father outside, he started to stab his father.

The suspect stabbed the victim several times.

“The knife broke and the father managed to run away. The SAPS was called to the scene at Winnie Mandela Zone Four. The father was taken to hospital for treatment,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

The police traced and later found the suspect.

“He was arrested for the attempted murder of his father. He will be appearing in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
