Local lad releases his first film

The film speaks to the plight of many South African graduates who face unemployment despite their qualifications.

Joe Ndlovu recently released his film called ‘Impillo ka-Lesh’.

The aspiring producer and film maker said the film is about an ambitious young female graduate who becomes dejected due to unemployment.

“Lesh gets introduced to crime by her ruffian boyfriend. When she comes back to her senses and realises that crime is wrong, she breaks free by escaping with her boyfriend’s hostages. She mends her life eventually,” said the film maker.

Joe said the film speaks to the plight of many South African graduates who face unemployment despite their qualifications.

“The film will teach the youth about the benefits of endurance,” said Joe.

He said film making is his first passion and he never studied for it. He received information about the art from workshops.

“The film industry has enormous potential for job creation and there are a lot of opportunities for entrepreneurship,” he said.

He said he sees himself working for big, influential film studios and eventually owning his own film company.

He said he has a vision of developing young talent to participate in film making eKasi.

“I implore the Tembisa community to support locally-produced Tembisa films. The proceeds of the film’s sales will enable us to produce more films and inspire young people,” said Joe.
