A Kempton Park family has renewed its appeal to the community for help in locating 61-year-old Themba Patrick Shangase, who has been missing since November 27, 2025.
Shangase was last seen at about 13:00 leaving his home in Strydom Street, Birchleigh North. A missing person case was subsequently opened at Norkem Park SAPS.
His niece, Chantel Coleman, said the family continues to live with the pain and uncertainty of not knowing what happened to him.

“It has been some time since our beloved uncle went missing and, despite our continued efforts, we are still searching for answers. As a family, we continue to live with the pain and uncertainty of not knowing where he is or what happened to him,” said Coleman.
She thanked members of the public for their continued support.
“We would like to thank everyone who has shared our previous appeals, offered prayers and provided information. Your support has meant a great deal to us during this difficult time.
“Today, we humbly ask the public once again to help us. If anyone has seen our uncle or has any information, no matter how small it may seem, please come forward.

“One piece of information could make all the difference and help bring our family the answers we have been desperately seeking.
“We kindly ask everyone to continue sharing his photograph and our appeal across communities and social media. Please help us bring him home. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family. We remain hopeful that, with your support, we will find our uncle.”
Coleman said the family has visited several mortuaries without success and appealed to mortuary staff who may have information to assist them.
According to Shangase’s sister, Margaret Shange, he takes medication for high blood pressure and cholesterol. She said he does not use drugs and that there were no known conflicts or circumstances that may have led to his disappearance.
Shange added that her brother does not own a cellphone and has not been in contact with the family since he disappeared. She said this is the first time he has gone missing.
Shangase is known to frequent the Vusimuzi and Thembisa areas.
