Thief nabbed in Terenure veld waiting for his buddies

The suspect was found in possession of a laptop, six computers, one plasma TV, two grinders, six keyboards, one microwave and electrical cables

A suspect claimed his two accomplices had left him to face the music alone, when he was arrested in possession of suspected stolen property on May 2, at about 6.30am.

“Sgt Takies Matloga and Const Sailus Baloi responded to a complaint about a suspicious person in an open veld next to Bergrivier Drive, Terenure. On arrival at the scene they spotted a male suspect with a black bag,” explained Norkem Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Lesibana Molokomme.

“Upon seeing the police he ran but the officers apprehended him.

“When questioned about the property, the suspect alleged that he was with two other men who had gone to fetch transport to load the property. He further explained they had broken into a company in the Chloorkop industrial area.”

Inside the bag police recovered a laptop.

Upon further investigation six computers, one plasma TV, two grinders, six keyboards, one microwave and electrical cables were recovered at the scene, said Molokomme.

The arrested suspect, aged 28, will appear in Kempton Park Magistrates Court on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.

Police are still searching for the two remaining suspects.
