A suspect was shot and killed on Thursday night after a shootout with tracking company officials.
The incident came after a truck hijacked in Joburg was traced by the tracking company and found on Atlas Road in Kempton Park.

According to W/O Jean Olckers, Ekurhuleni North Communications Officer on-call, the incident happened at about 8pm.
“The tracking company found the truck on Atlas Road and stopped next to it. While the suspects were still inside the truck, the suspects opened fire at the officials from the tracking company,” Olckers confirmed.
“A shootout then ensued and one suspect was fatally wounded.”
One other suspect was arrested and the rest of the accomplices managed to get away in an unknown vehicle.
At this stage the contents of the truck are unknown.
A case of truck hijacking is being investigated and the suspect (44) will appear in court soon.
