A South African woman (32) was nabbed at OR Tambo International Airport on May 6 for being in possession of 5.7kg of cocaine worth R1.6 million.
According to Brig Vishnu Naidoo, national police spokesman, the woman arrived from Dubai.
“During a joint operation consisting of members of the South African Police Service’s Trans International Investigation Unit, Tactical Response Team, Intelligence and K9 Units, police found a stash of drugs hidden in tins which were nicely sealed,” Naidoo said.
“We have established from her passport entries that she has been a regular visitor abroad.”
