ATMs bombed in Ivory Park

"No one has been arrested. We are appealing for any information that could lead to the arrests of the six suspects."

The FNB ATMs at the Kopanong Shopping Complex in Ivory Park, Extension 15, were bombed in the early hours of Thursday morning last week.

The Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said police officers responded to the scene after about six suspects allegedly approached a security guard and tied his hands together with cables.

“The suspects broke the door of the FNB machines in order to gain entry. While inside, they managed to open two safes and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects fled the scene. It was not established if they were using a vehicle or not,” said W/O Sekgobela.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Ivory Park SAPS.

“No one has been arrested. We are appealing for any information that could lead to the arrests of the six suspects,” said W/O Sekgobela.
