
IN an unfortunate turn of events, a homeowner accidentally shot his gardener in the face during a house robbery, in Outteniqua Street, Pomona.
According to Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, Capt Jethro Mtshali, three suspects held up both the owner and domestic worker, and tied them in the house.
The suspects searched the house, took the house keys and the owners’ wallet and left the house, said Mtshali.

“It is alleged that, as they were about to leave, the owner managed to untie his hands and reach for his firearm. As he went outside he found one of the suspects holding his gardener. The owner fired a shot which accidentally hit his gardener on his face,” explained Mtshali.
Mtshali said that both the owner and gardener were taken to hospital by an ambulance, with injuries sustained during the struggle with the robbers.
Investigations are continuing and a case of house robbery has been opened.
