Laerskool van Riebeeck Park Primary reaches out to MES

Lilly Franks welcomed the learners at the centre

KEMPTON Park’s community faces poverty challenges on a regular basis.

There is an estimated 100-150 homeless people living and working on the streets. There is a big need to reach out to children of these families as they do not have the opportunity to attend pre-schools or after school centres. Hunger is another challenge.

In August 2010, MES opened a satellite branch in Kempton Park to help children and people in need.

The grade 6E class of Van Riebeeck Park Primary School went to visit the MES organisation and donated toys, clothes and food.

Lilly Franks welcomed the learners at the centre. “We are grateful for everything donated to our children. Van Riebeeck Park is truly a school with a heart.”
