Community activist and TCF co-founder Zamani Sithole dies

“Through his tireless efforts, wisdom and passion, he contributed to building a platform for advocacy and collective action.”

The Thembisa Community Forum (TCF) is mourning the death of its co-founder and former chairperson, Zamani Sithole, who passed away on August 23 after a long illness.

Sithole was remembered by the organisation as a dedicated community leader who played an important role in shaping the foundation of the TCF and its work in Thembisa.

TCF public relations officer Brenda Mekoa said Sithole was more than a leader, describing him as a pillar of strength, a visionary and a dedicated servant of the community.

His commitment to community justice, dignity, unity and social progress helped establish the principles on which the organisation was founded.

“From its earliest days, through his tireless efforts, wisdom and passion for the people of Thembisa, he contributed immensely to building a platform for advocacy and collective action,” said Mekoa.

“His leadership and humility touched countless lives, and his contribution to the community will forever remain part of our history and legacy.”

Mekoa said the organisation was mourning the loss of a comrade, activist, mentor and leader whose voice inspired many.

“Although he has departed from us, the values he stood for and the vision he championed will continue to guide our journey. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Though he is gone, his voice still marches with us,” she said.

The TCF extended its condolences to Sithole’s family, friends and all those who worked alongside him in serving the Thembisa community.
