Three men were arrested for breaking into a Winnie Mandela resident’s house.
Constable Patricia Mgijima said on June 12, a 67-year-old complainant left her house for work at about 7.30pm.
“When she came back, she noticed that the padlock was cut. Various items, including her handbags, cash, plates, bedding and glasses, among other items, had been stolen,” said Const Mgijima.
Const Mgijima said on June 13, at about 9.30pm, the SAPS received a complaint of mob justice in Winnie Mandela Zone 2.
“On arrival, they found a 41 year old suspect who was linked to case. Some of the belongings were found in his possession,” said Const Mgijima.
She said the suspect pointed out two of his accomplices who were traced by SAPS officers. The suspects were found in Moriting Section in Tembisa with some of the stolen property.
“All three suspects were arrested for possession of presumably stolen property and will appear soon before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.”
