Elderly man’s throat slit in his Pomona home

AN elderly Pomona man, believed to have been in his early eighties, was killed in his EP Malan Street home yesterday.

Dirk Fivaz was found with his throat slit. It is believed he was killed between noon and 1pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Condolences for his family and friends have been pouring in since details of his brutal death were posted on social media.

According to Sala Edwards, an honourary member of Kempton Park Rugby Club and friend of Fivaz, he (Fivaz) played for the club many years ago. He was also the club’s factotum.

“The last work he did for the club, as far as I can remember, was revamping the bar and building the glass box at Barnard Stadium.
