A 27-year-old suspect has been arrested following a murder in the Phumasilwe informal settlement on July 2.
Constable Patricia Mgijima said the Tembisa SAPS received notice of a death on arrival at Tembisa Hospital.
“On arriving at the hospital, SAPS members found a witness who informed them that he had been with the deceased at a tavern in the Phumasilwe informal settlement. He heard the deceased screaming for help and as he turned, he noticed a suspect stabbing the deceased.
“An ambulance was called and transported the victim to the Tembisa Hospital where he was later declared dead.
The suspect was arrested and will appear soon before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to answer a charge of murder,” said Const Mgijima.
