Schools give water to Kroonstad with a cheer
The two schools jointly collected over 5 000 litres of water that was then delivered to Broken Wings
INTERNET Express Couriers, in partnership with Jeugpark and Kempton Park Primary schools, undertook a water collection project to assist people in the drought-stricken Kroonstad area.
After watching a TV programme depicting the dire water situation in South Africa and in Kroonstad in particular, the Internet Express Courier team made a plan to help. They reached out to the principals of Jeugpark and Kempton Park Primary to initiate a water collection project within the schools.

Over a two-week period, learners in all grades were encouraged to bring water or water containers to school. The two schools jointly collected over 5 000 litres of water that was then delivered to Broken Wings, a Water Shortage South Africa collection point in Alberton.
Geoff Milton, director of Internet Express Couriers, said although the project ran during the exam period, learners were excited to participate and make a difference. He was especially touched by the learners’ compassion for others and the cheerfulness in their giving.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the two participating schools for making this project such a huge success. In the new term, a small surprise is waiting for the two classes who collected the most water,” Milton said.
