Man (38) arrested for possession of hijacked vehicle

Ivory Park SAPS communication officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Officer, said the tracking device members alerted the police about a Mazda 323 which was parked at Nyama King in Ivory Park, Extension 15.

A 38 year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Saturday for possession of a suspected hijacked motor vehicle.

Members of the Ivory Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit were executing duties when they received a tip-off from a tracking unit about the hijacked car.

Ivory Park SAPS communication officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, said the tracking company members alerted the police about a Mazda 323 which was parked at Nyama King in Ivory Park, Extension 15.

“The police proceeded to the place and on arrival they found the 38-year-old man inside the vehicle busy removing music speakers. The man was arrested and taken to the Ivory Park SAPS,” said W/O Sekgobela.

W/O Sekgobela said the police established that the vehicle had been hijacked in Buhle Park, Elsburg this month.
