SAPS caches one suspect

"The suspects demanded that the owner open the gate."

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Ecaleni Section on a charge of business robbery.

The arrest was made on August 2.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said the shop owner was allegedly asleep in a room inside the shop.

“He heard a loud bang when the wall was broken. Two men entered and one was in possession of a torch.

“They were unable to enter were the owner slept because of a security gate that divided the shop from the room,” he said.

“The suspects demanded that the owner open the gate. The owner did not open the security gate. One of the suspects ran out through the hole they had made through the wall.”

Police officers informed the owner that they had managed to arrest one suspect.

“The owner found that the suspects had stolen airtime, cigarettes and groceries.”
