Mzukisi Isaac Majola (37) from Endulweni Section was sentenced on August 11 to life imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend.
Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha said the man stabbed his girlfriend to death on August 25 last year.
“It was alleged that the girlfriend was in the company of her boyfriend at his house at Endulweni Section. An argument ensued between the two. The family intervened to calm them down,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
“They stopped and promised to be quiet. Later the family heard them arguing again in their room. His sister went to investigate when she heard the woman screaming for help. When she opened door of the room she found her brother stabbing his girlfriend. She managed to stop him from stabbing her further.”
“He left the room and said he would call an ambulance. He never came back. He was traced and arrested six days later.”
“The investigating officer, on September 1 last year, received information of his whereabouts. He organised other SAPS members and went to the house at Endulweni Section where the crime was committed.”
Capt Ralidzhivha said they found the house locked.
“The informer insisted that the suspect was inside the house. The police forced the door open and upon searching the house they found him hiding in the wardrobe. He was arrested and detained at the Tembisa SAPS. He was later charged with murder,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
He was sentenced in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.
